The Jaguar E-type is a British sports car that was presented to the general public in 1961. Its production lasted from 1961 to 1975 at Jaguar's Coventry plant in Great Britain. The Model E was developed and put into production as a successor to Jaguar's XK150 range. The main designer of the new car was Malcolm Sayer. On many levels, however, the E model referred to the racing Jaguar D-Type. Compared to its predecessor, it differed in a fundamental way in the styling of the body and the widely understood design, which made the Jaguar E-type widely regarded as one of the most beautiful sports cars of the 20th century. Moreover, the car had good aerodynamic properties thanks to its streamlined silhouette. There were smaller revolutions under the hood, as the drive was still a slightly improved engine from the Jaguar XK series, which was first launched in 1948 and also powered the XK120. In the course of series production, the E model was used in different variants of this engine, with displacements from 3.8 to 5.4 liters and outputs of up to 276 hp.
